How long do whitened teeth retain the lighter colour?
The longevity of your whitening treatment is dependent on how you care for your teeth and the type of discoloration. Your teeth will always be lighter than they were. However, some patients may need to periodically re-whiten their smile every one to two years, especially if they continue to use staining substances like caffeine, wine or tobacco products.

Is teeth whitening safe?
ZOOM!® is the world’s leading teeth whitening treatment. The whitening gel and ZOOM!® light used by Dr Moffet haveundergone extensive testing to ensure they are completely safe for your teeth and gums.

Are there side effects to the tooth whitening treatment?

1 hour ZOOM!® teeth whitening
ZOOM!® whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to remove stains and discoloration, as well as lighten pigmentation within tooth enamel.

ZOOM!® whitening is a complete twostage process. Firstly, ZOOM!® whitening is performed in-offi ce at Active Dental (60 minutes) to immediately brighten your teeth by up to 8 shades. A peroxide-based whitening gel is applied to your teeth and a specially developed light is used to activate the gel and initiate the whitening process.

Then, the teeth whitening process is continued and enhanced with a take home whitening course allowing you to achieve the maximum teeth whitening result possible for you.

Take home teeth whitening treatment
Our at home whitening option offers the ease and comfort of whitening in familiar surrounds at times that are convenient to you. With the use of custom-made trays and a formulated whitening gel, you can expect an improvement in as little as 7 days. This safe and effective system offers the benefits of improved self-confidence and appearance.

Whitening for Life Program
When you come to Active Dental for your preventive examination, x-rays and cleaning, we will provide you with custom whitening trays and materials for a one-time enrollment fee of $100.

Then, at each recommended preventive visit, we will give you a complimentary touch up kit of whitening gel. *

The usual fee is $50.00 per tube. This ensures that you will be able to keep your teeth bright and beautiful for life!
